What kind of Medical System do you want?

The best medical system, in my opinion, is one in which people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own health from the start and give their body what it requires to stay healthy. I'm 64 years old, and it surprises me how often it's expected that I'd be taking medications at my age.

Last time my doctor prescribed a medication for me, I told him "I don't do drugs" and that I'd find a natural way to deal with it. I did just that and, a year later, my blood test results proved me right.

If I had gone on the prescriptions that doctors wanted to prescribe for me, I'd be on drugs for depression, poor digestion, arthritis, osteoporosis, high cholesterol, plus the drugs that would be needed as a result of putting all those drugs into my body! Instead, I found effective, non-medical ways of dealing with all of the "diseases" my doctors had wanted to treat me for medically.

For many years I saw, firsthand, the outcome of taking the drug route. When my dad was alive, he used to line up his pills in the morning: purple, yellow, red, white, etc. My dad loved life so much. He and my mother were in love until the last day he lived. What a tragedy that his doctors hadn’t had the knowledge of how to restore his health when he was in his 50s, rather than putting him on the road to adding more and more medications to his life with every passing year.
When I was young, my dad was a strong man. Drugs didn’t cure him. They made him sicker and, what’s worse, they disempowered him. I am convinced that, if he had depended more on naturopathy, rather than on medicine, he would be alive and well today. This is a tragedy, and one that not only our family has suffered.

Most recently, I have begun to use a nutritional internal cleanse to stay healthy. The turn-around in my weight, energy levels, and mental acuity has astounded me. It has made me realize that modern medicine has forgotten that the body is the miracle. If we treat it well and keep the cells of our miraculous body clean, we allow it to use the in-born wisdom it already has to keep us healthy.

Medicine teaches doctors how to prescribe drugs when certain symptoms appear. Instead, we should be seeing these same symptoms simply as signs from our body that we've gone off track. Today, we are blessed with vast knowledge about how to stay well. Yet, most people go right to their doctors -- and drugs -- as their first choice. The result is that, eventually, the cells of the body get clogged up, preventing it from functioning the way it was designed to function. Then we wonder why we feel so crummy and go on to get sicker and sicker.

Do you remember how you looked and felt as a child. My goal is to do whatever I can in order to maintain that delightful radiance and health for as long as possible!
